How fit do you need to be to participate?

Bogathon is suitable for all fitness levels. The course is more about testing endurance and stamina than fitness.

What is the deadline to register?

Is there an age requirement?

16 and over

What should I bring?

Wear light clothing, but keep warm. Wear your normal running shoes and, because this is Ireland, you might want to take a hat, gloves and sun cream.

How much does it cost to enter?

€20 for online bookings and €25 when you register on the day

TY (transition year ) Competitions: €10 per entrant

What are the group entry rates?

None available at this time.

Is there anything for families to do at the event?

Yes, the Bogathon will take place on Lisduff Adventure Farm, which means the whole family, from toddlers to grandparents, can come along to support loved ones participating in the event.
The farm’s restaurant is open all day, serving a delicious range of healthy food to suit all tastes
There’s also an outdoor and indoor adventure area and families can meet and feed the animals on the pet farm.

Do you have to pay for parking?

No, there is ample free parking at Lisduff Adventure Farm

Are there accommodation options?

Hotels and B&B’s are available in the area

Are there bathrooms on the course?

Yes, at the start and at the finish line.

What’s included in the entry fee?

What if I spot someone cheating on the course?

Feel free to tell them their only fooling themselves. Bogathon participants don’t cheat, they compete. Anyone doing something they should not do will be automatically disqualified.

Will the event be cancelled due to poor weather conditions?

The Bogathon does not depend on Irish weather (and nor, quite frankly, should you!). Regardless of what kind of day we have, the Bogathon will go ahead. The only reason the event will be cancelled is if the weather conditions pose a health and security risk to our participants and organisers.

How do I make sure I’m registered?

Once you have registered through our website, you will receive an email confirming your registration.

What if I or someone else gets sick or injured?

There will be medical personnel in attendance to assist you

Do I need to be able to swim to complete this event?

No

Can I skip any part of the course?

You can skip any obstacle that you do not feel comfortable with.

Where do I register on the day?

There will be a registration tent where you should bring your printed registration form confirming your entry.

Are there any online transaction fees?

For one day event: Yes, a small fee applies when you register online. This will be displayed when you are registering.

What happens if I can’t finish the course?

You know your body better than anyone else. If you can’t finish the course, take pride in the fact that you participated and gave it your best shot.
